‘Convicted’ Reading Group
During term 3 and into term 4 a group of students read the novel ‘Convicted’ and completed a range of comprehension activities. As a celebration of finishing the novel the students all made show bags to showcase their learning. Each show bag contained a character profile, PMI, Venn Diagram comparing two characters and 5 significant objects. The bag was decorated in the theme of the novel and had a blurb written on it too.
‘Boring Moments’ Reading Group
During term 4 all the grade is learning about procedural writing. To support a group of students’ learning a text called “More Helpful Hints For Boring Moments’ was selected. It contains a range of different procedures to read, discuss and make! The six students have enjoyed following the directions to make a sculpted face.
Term Four Writing Project
Over the first 7 to 8 weeks of the term all the students will be completing a writing project on their time at primary school. For each year level the students will select a different a different genre and write about an experience, teacher, friend, event….. For example, their Prep page might be a letter to a friend telling them about the year they shared together or it might be a procedural text on ‘How to Make Friends in Prep’.
